# Commissioned by Cheongju Craft Biennale 2017

<깍지, 똬리>는 2014년부터 진행해 온 슈퍼 크래프트 시리즈 연작의 하나로 머리와 손가락의 자연스러운 움직임을 감각으로 변환시키는 물건이다. 작가는 ‘특별하지 않은 미디어’를 제작하여 자연스럽게 유도된 움직임이 만들어내는 감각적 경험을 표현해왔다. 과거에는 여러 연유로 제작이 어려웠던 이 ‘쓸모 없는 물건’이 기술 매체를 통해 생산되어 존재함은 우리가 도구적 사물 관점에서 벗어나 매체적 사물을 통해 기술 미디어와의 상호작용을 가능하게 한다. 이에 반어적 의미의 슈퍼 크래프트는 기능적으로는 ‘쓸모 없는’ 물건이지만 새로운 사물-존재 방식을 보여줄 수 있는 잠재적 사물이다.

As part of a series of Super Craft series that has been in progress since 2014, it converts the natural movement of the head and fingers into senses. The author has produced “unusual media” to express the sensuous experience created by naturally induced movements. The existence of this ‘useless object’, which was difficult to produce for many reasons in the past, through the technology media allows us to interact with the technology media through media objects, away from the point of view of the tool. Thus, super craft, which has an ironic meaning, is functionally “useless” but a potential object that can show a new way of object-presence.
