사변적 미래를 위한 기술적 상상

제로원의 R-LAB 프로젝트 <미래를 위한 웨어러블>에서 미래의 불확실성과 공존하기 위한 방법론을 고민하고 동시에 미래에 인간이 경험할 웨어러블에 대한 리서치와 기술적 프로토타이핑을 위한 정기적인 아이데이션 모임을 진행하며 이를 시각화 한다. 최종적으로는 근 미래 기술로 실현될 웨어러블에 대한 청사진을 그리는 것, 기술의 미래가 보여주는 사변적 미래를 위한 웨어러블을 상상하는 것을 목표로 한다.

이를 위해 양숙현님의 리서치 랩은 생성 AI를 도구로 기술의 유연함을 인간에게 적용하기 위해 ‘웨어러블’에 접근하고자 한다. 리서치 랩의 결과물로서 자동차 용 엘리베이터 공간에 생성 AI가 만들어 낸 두 개의 스크린이 바퀴 달린 프레임에 전시 되었다. 한쪽에는 웨어러블이나 장치라는 직접적인 용어를 배제하고 구체적인 형상이 아닌 다양한 비유-감각어를 통해 제작된 웨어러블의 디자인을, 다른 한쪽에는 프롬프트에 적은 내용들이 보여진다.

The lab project began with the question, ‘How will we put information beyond humans to non-human beings now that imaginary technologies are feasible?’ They newly define Wearable as “wearable when worn, robot when taken off,” and give independence as an object, going beyond the physicality and combination of cybernetics approaches that wearable devices had. It is to imagine and present a new wearable area beyond body prosthetics or natural user interface (NUI) devices.

This is a new proposal from Zer01ne Creator for wearable that deviates from body-centered human-centered thinking. They look at where contemporary wearables meet devices, robots, designs, and fashion, and visualize new definitions with prototyping drawings. It also presents a blueprint for creative imagination through image generation AI collaboration and provides an opportunity to draw the upcoming future.
